I think that Sarah is being really unfair to her mother by saying Wendy is "never" on her side, BUT given both the fact that it took Wendy a LOT longer to come around to referring to Sarah by her chosen name and pronouns, and Sarah's age, I think it's excusable.  All kids are kind of drama llamas, right?

I've been enjoying the comic for some time now. I've always had difficulty getting a message to actually post here, but it's worth trying again.

Sarah's acting pretty typical from what little experience I've had. We've raised five sons and no daughters, so there's not quite as much drama. Still, it rings true.

Keep up the good work!

It's a heartbreaking little detail that Sarah kept on the necklace, even carefully overlaying it over her dress instead of hiding it. It's still a visble reminder of her mother accepting her as a daughter, but only halfway, only in private, but Sarah is insisting (with no small amount of bitterness) on making it public too.

Also, she's kind of cringeworhtily reminding me of myself as an eleven year old girl, right down to the ravens and all black, then, I grew up yo be into pink and princessy things and moved away from the Gothic Lolita aesthetic to Sweet Lolita. ( However, I was a total tomboy as a very small child, huh...)

We may have our princess back yet!
