I'm curious about Digby, since I haven't followed "Eve's Apple" as closely as this strip:

Is Digby what is popularly known as a drag queen? Or is Digby (I don't even know what pronoun to use!) just one of those for whom labels don't apply, like Irma?

Digby has a drag persona, but for the most part he is simply a man who is effete. He identifies as a man, so the male pronoun applies. It's just that he is a man on his own terms, which includes a love of pretty things.
