Did this woman REALLY think Sarah was not out at school?  Unbelievable.

I do not think she did not know what happened in the school.

It is more so that she still struggles with her own
She called Sarah indeed still Seth in her head.

The fact that other people also her teacher accept Sarah as a girl.
Does not fit into their worldview. That gives her a kick ...
Do not hate her, she's on the way curing their fear (Hopefully)

I'm just saying, she should know her daughter well enough by now to know that the nothing will stand in her way.

Got to love the looks on Wendy's face.

Don't forget she is probably expecting the school to be a huge battle given the principle's reaction to type first time Sarah came to school in a dress. She doesn't know what she won by standing up for Sarah yet.

Not to mention I think Sarah is probably competent enough at sneaking for Wendy to see what she wants to.

You are absolutely correct, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it myself. The principal was not just opposed to Sarah, she was nasty, as evidenced by the bad "straighten him out" pun. So much so that Wendy had to not so gently point out that she was loan officer at the local bank, which could adversely affect the principal's next loan application. Granted, she might have been kidding, but I don't think so.

There's another plot thread folks seem to be forgetting, too, which I'm sure has an affect on Wendy's attitude: the reporter who wants to interview Sarah. Remember him? She figures if Sarah is any more "out", that would only encourage the local media, and she rightly doesn't want her child exploited.

I think the most fitting remark here would be, "Ouch!"....
