I think the buny is her "soft" or maybe vulnerable spot of her , something from a time bevore everything had gone bad for her... She protects the buny and the buny protekts her,,,,, nothing evil... just a old worn off toy.

Peny is a very well portrait of someone who is a victim and offender at the same time. Once more , there is a lot of depth psychology in these characters . I just love how these stories can tell these issues in simple pictures .
