Guest post by "z" I have weird feelings about the emphasis on "man" in that first panel... I can't really put my finger on it. Not sure if it's just a response to the queer/transphobia she just faced (this is my man, he's a man not a woman, get your facts straight), if she's trying to be more grown-up than she is (they're just teenagers, he's not really a man yet), if she's trying to convince herself of something...
It may be nothing, this comic's style tends to use emphasis quite often and it isn't always a clue, but this whole strip seems ominous so I can't help but read too much into it.
