I got exactly the same impression you did. A couple of strips earlier, I made a flippant remark about the blasé attitude of Molly's mother toward her, but now I'm thinking it might be something other than a mildly amused, "There she goes again!" kind of thinking. Maybe she really doesn't care. I also get the impression that Molly seems to have no identity of her own, but merely copies whoever she's near. That sets off some red flags, because it implies at the very least that she thinks very little of herself. The more I know about this girl, the more convinced I am she needs help. |
