The Princess

To My Beloved Royalty...

So, it seems that my shops on Cafepress are down. Nobody really used them, but if anyone get the yen for a mug or tee shirt, let me know.

Hm, sounds like she's not quite comfortable with what Sarah is, though she is using the pronouns.  Maybe she's more reacting to the whole "presexual kids emulating romantic relationships" concept that I've (generically) complained about before, as in "Little Archie has the exact same adventures as teen Archie"...

On second thought, I see that J's Mom is hesitating every time she needs to refer to Sarah's name or gender, so I guess this is "that" conversation after all.

I caught that too, but at this point, it's hard to tell whether she's well-meaning but confused, completely intolerant of Sarah, or if there's something else going on. Since she's obviously raised a very progressive-minded son, however, I doubt she disapproves of Sarah--even our closest allies can struggle with names and pronouns at first.

This question is unrelated to what's going on in the strip, but I have no other way to ask you this, Christine--are you ever going to address the trans restroom controversy in the strip? I can imagine some kids in Sarah's school might take issue with her using the girls' restroom (Chuck's sister, for one) or a rather conservative faculty member might decide to make an issue of it.

Maybe the school will add a unisex restroom.  Not for the trans students, but for the kids who are scared that they might see ICKY PEOPLE in the normal restroom.

I'll SORT OF be dealing with this issue soon, assuming nothing stands in the way of my ability to update.
